Sify Broadband Night Only Package

The package comes with 128kbps speeds (non-shared) and is worth 360bucks for a month. The cost is just an indication considering Sify has this really bad habit of increasing prices and changing package details on a monthly basis. So, if you like the package, consider buying 2-3 upgrades now to remain safe. They might bring out a better package but still taking chance is not a good idea… especially with Sify Broadband…
It works from 9pm to 9am. There is no connectivity during 9am-9pm so you would need a new id with another package if you need something for daytime surfing. The speeds for me (and many guys on the forum) is pretty decent. There are some real basic problems, which makes it a tough choice to consider.
Since the package starts at 9pm, there are few reasons for me to keep my PC on at daytime. So, there is no way to notice if there is any problem with the network. My CTO is not very technically motivated kind so he would not know of any network problems unless someone call him. And trust me; you would be lucky if any CTO gives you service after 7pm. So, I have to switch on my computer at around 5pm to see if the network is fine or not. It is still a gamble considering if network goes down after 9pm, you are helpless. No way to get online until next day 9pm.
Which makes me wonder, how can Sify Broadband sell packages for night when they do not have ways to provide support?
Another problem is what I am facing at this moment. Since, they cannot afford to stop the connectivity during daytime, all the server management tasks are done at nighttime. I am currently offline since 20 minutes (and would remain so for at least 10 more minutes) because they do server management at night. And best thing is that I found no kind of notification that informed me of this maintenance beforehand. Maybe they can start sending mails to users with details of these tasks. But that might be invitation to more spam from these idiots.
The Broadband Client still sucks and it does two real bad things to your computer:
1. It makes Sify.com as the homepage of Internet Explorer every time you install a new update.
2. It loads up Sify.com website (which has additional popups) everytime you logon.
The bad thing is that there are no options to turn these things off.
With no other alternative for me, I am stuck with it. Airtel Broadband has some real cool packages. Check if it exists in your area.

well i've also got this night package and they r charging me 600 PM(is it normal )becos i've got sify for the first time and the download speed also fluctuates a lot i've reported this twise but nothig solid has been done yet

no dude u are being looooted big time it costs only 400 rs 600 is too much.also u should be getting an average speed of um 14 kbps what sppeds do you get? during the 12 hr period of 9-9 i download approx 600 mb everyday

hey dude, i've got this package recently… thr is a strange problem… connectivity is very poor till 11 pm … if i try to ping the default gateway, it time outs very frequently… but suddenly after 11 pm, everything is ok.. but again in the morning around 7am, same problem continues… have been talking to customer care guys.. i must say sify has got one of the worst customer care centers…ne idea what may be the root cause of this problem ?
