Bharti Airtel rated as India’s most innovative company

New Delhi, July 11, 2008: Bharti Airtel Limited has been voted as India’s most innovative company, in a survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal.
Bharti Airtel was ranked as the most innovative in responding to customer needs in a survey conducted to determine Asia’s 200 most-admired companies.
Commenting on this recognition Mr. Manoj Kohli, President & CEO, Bharti Airtel said, “Innovation is way of life and a key part of our company’s DNA. Bharti Airtel has always led the telecom revolution in this country but also led the innovations in the sector that have become industry benchmarks and delighted customers. We are very happy to have been recognized for our efforts.”
In an editor’s note, The Wall Street Journal said, “Innovation doesn’t just mean bringing new products and services to a market. It also means anticipating customer needs, employing sophisticated approaches to customer service, and being good at coming up with creative ideas.”
Talking about Bharti Airtel, The Wall Street Journal said, “India’s largest mobile operator….. created unique products for the Indian market and imported smart ideas from overseas, extending their reach into Indian society and raising standards of service.”
