Another mail from another customer…
Hi, I hope you can include this problem in your ongoing struggle against Sify. Im a subscriber from Vasai, Mumbai Apparently Sify seems have hired some chimps to program their internet access modules. The prblem , a faulty session manager. No matter what you do, your session gets invalidated after a certain amount of time. No explainations or warnings given. So this means when im reading something online which would amount to a couple of minutes of inactivity and there goes my connection. The worst is when i’m in discussion with my online friends and suddenly they stop resonding… i wonder why… and then i know… the silly piece of work they call a software is not working correctly.
So I call up the customer service and register this problem. And as dumb as these people are, she is trying to diagonise my computer settings. I informed her that i’m a technology aware guy and i know what the problem exactly is. Infact I have implemented time and mission criticalsession managers where a lot more than a few minutes of extra connectivity is at stake. But the apparently they have no tech support, and the “dumb terminal” ( What i would prefer to call that automated human response mutant i was talking to) says thqt my complaint has been registered and i would be updates soon. That was 2 weeks ago and still their stupid session manager crashes.
For a company that provides such bare minimum over-priced and absolutely faulty solution, if only they could hire some professionals to do the programming for them.

the problem you face is not because of the client, but because of their heartbeat “feature” which is more a pain in the ass than a facility. call them up and ask them to disable this feature for you. then you will have continuous sessions without any disconnections if everything else is fine.

i think u are running a firewall which blocks the packets of data treating that as attacks so every 30 mins the server will check for ur status i myself experienced this with zone alarm so allow that particular port and the data packet ur problem will get solved
