Tata Teleservices to invest $1.5 billion on GSM network
Tata Teleservices has announced that they are planning to invest heavily into improving their existing network.
They are also going to invest heavily in their new GSM network for which they have now received the required permissions.
Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Teleservices said in a statement: “We will invest about $2 billion over the next two years for the expansion of our telecom network, of which $1.5 billion will be spent for GSM while the remaining amount go towards the development of the existing CDMA network.”
Tata Teleservices is one of the dominating CDMA players in the Indian market along with Reliance Communications.
They are now aiming to become a GSM player by the end of next financial year. They have the permissions to start GSM services in nineteen circles under the crossover technology policy.
