Tata TeleServices to launch Blackberry services

Tata TeleServices has announced that they would in fact launch Blackberry services later this year.

The company was stopped by the Indian government from launching these services earlier.

The issue raised is related to security. The Indian security agencies wanted a way to track the data transmitted on the Blackberry networks. No solution has yet been found.

Research in Motion continues to discuss a possible solution to this security related problem.

Tata has said that they would abide by any decision taken by the government in this regard.

They have now received the required clearance from the Telecom Secretary to launch the Blackberry services in the Indian market.
