BSNL launches IPTV services in Pune
State owned telecom service provider BSNL has announced the commercial launch of their IPTV services in the Pune city.
They are also now offering video on demand and online gaming services to their subscribers.
BSNL IPTV service provides access to both free-to-air and pay broadcast channels. Customers can watch them on computers and television sets.
BSNL Broadband customers can opt out of this service. They are making available around 100 channels on their IPTV platform.
V. K. Mahendra, principal general manager, BSNL – Pune spoke at the launch ceremony: “In the last 18 months, BSNL has conducted various tests on the quality and feasibility of the service and the equipment. BSNL will be the first player in the market to provide TV services on the PC.”
