Broadband from Reliance for Bengal

Reliance Infocom signed an agreement with West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation today. They would be providing broadband services to the household customers in the state. Webel Managing Director Dr S K Mitra signed the MoU along with Reliance Industries R Tewari. Webel will enable faster processing of necessary permissions and clearances to facilitate rapid and cost-effective rollout of services.

State IT Minister Manab Mukherjee told the media: “In the first phase, Reliance will provide telephony and high speed internet services while video or entertainment services will be offered in the second phase”. The services would be distributed through cable operators some of whom are already in the same business with other ISPs.

West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation already is providing net services to the people of Bengal through their brand name, Webel ISP and now Reliance would be their source of bandwidth. This agreement is for a period of six months. However, the companies have not disclosed the rates and product plans yet.

Webel is eyeing a 25 per cent share of the estimated Rs 1,000-crore market in the first year of operations.

    REDICULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE IN RELIANCE
    (Multifunctionalility of users restricted)
    ============================================

    I had visited a Web world express and found that the speed was fine but it is only good if we are using a single window for browsing.In preet Vihar Delhi it was said that the task bar cannot be seen.I think this is done intentionaly to get the cutomers restrict multifunctional activity.So that customer end up more time on net with more effort.Why is not the tak bar not visible.Any pc is meant for multi tasking.

    When ever a customer calls up any CSR the answer is “Sorry Applogigize and then a standard answer sayind that “it will take x minutes” or simply say that “there is a problem with software” or “say that there is a problem with network like server down”.If that was the case then the humans could be very well replaced by automatic machines.They just want to kick the customers off and then geat new case instead of real solutions.If this continues on then all customers from Relaince will switch over to some other Service providers soon.

    AFTER ALL CUSTOMERS ARE NOT FOOLS.!
