Unitech to merge all of its telecom subsidiaries

India’s real estate major Unitech has said that they are now going to merge all its eight telecom subsidiaries into a single entity.

The aim is to manage their telecom businesses more efficiently.

Unitech MD Sanjay Chandra said in a statement: “We do not intend to form a holding company for our telecom venture, but will instead merge all telecom subsidiaries.”

The company added that the merger would be done once the services are launched.

Unitech is planning to launch their telecom services by the middle of next year.

They have been allocated spectrum in 16 circles in the country.

The company would be sharing infrastructure with existing players to keep the costs low.
