Sify Broadband: The tragic saga continues

The Sify internet connection was down yet again and it started working exactly when the basic requirement of mine for it was over. I need net to work for sure between 12noon and 4pm and it was down since morning till 4pm. How convinient…

Here is my latest letter to the concerned people:

Hi,

Yeah right, I am back again. After the net was down whole day, yesterday. Its down again today. Your local guys are no where in sight. And I have had enough. I have written enough. I have made enough phone calls. Sent enough mails. Cursed Sify enough that I have ran out of my capacity. My package ends this 28th and if I get another breakdown in net services (of course, after it gets working from current breakdown), I am not renewing. I will leave my job, the only source of income I have and I will leave Sify broadband for good. Perhaps, that would make my life and yours a bit more peaceful.

You can serve your bigger clients, the banks, the share brokers, the IT companies. Small fries like me don’t interest you and I have understood that pretty clearly now. I am dumb to have missed this point before…

The latest excuse from your lines man:
My PC is generating static electricity that is being transferred to the local switches hanging them for good. Pretty ingenious!

The solution?
Get fiber cable connectivity.

What I say?
I will. I have 2 conditions:

Sify mentions in the brochure that the incompetency of its local people could cost the customer a lot of money if he wants reliability.
I won’t pay full amount of the installation. I would pay half of the final amount with another 3500/- deducted from it which I paid for the current connection. Also, I pay the amount in installments of Rs. 500/- per month and only in those months there are no local breakdowns. If the problem is with the Sify Gateway, I am OK with that. You own the network I don’t. You are responsible for providing me the infrastructure, I am not. I am being generous with this offer.

I have specifically told your guys that I absolutely need Internet between 12noon and 4 pm. And for the last 2 days. Net has been down between these periods. Today, as I see it now. It’s exactly 4PM and my net has automagically started working rendering it professionally useless for me for the rest of the day. Though I will use it for non professional reasons till the time it works because I am pissed off like hell and need some thing to get back from you…
