9.2 million new GSM customers in February in India

India gained around 9.2 million new GSM customers last month.

The number was around 9.7 million in the month of January.

The slight dip could be related to three less months in February compared to January.

Indian mobile market continues to grow at an impressive pace. Reliance is also a major growth factor as they have just launched their GSM operations.

Cellular Operators Association of India claims that the market could continue to add 12-13 million new customers every month in the near future.

Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer last month with 2.73 million new customers. They now have around 91 million customers.

Vodafone added 2.6 million new customers in February. They now have around 66 million subscribers in the country. Idea Cellular added 1.5 million customers in February.
