Idea Cellular launched in Orissa
Idea Cellular has launched its mobile services in the state of Orissa.
The company said that they are going to invest about Rs 1,000 crore in three years on its telecom operations in Orissa.
The aim is to provide coverage in around 15,000 towns and villages in all the 30 districts of the state by the end of 2009-10.
Idea spoke about their plans for the state of Orissa: “Idea has started investing for offering its mobile services in Orissa from 2008 and the company has earmarked an investment of about Rs 1,000 crore for the state in three years. Idea Cellular aims to cover all the 30 districts of the state in three phases by March 2010.”
Vijay Grover, chief operating officer (east), Idea Cellular added: “Orissa added 32 lakh mobile subscribers in 2008-09 and the state has been recording a year-on-year growth of 54 per cent.”
