Apple iPhone 3G yet to see a price cut in India
Apple launched the new iPhone in the US market. Apple iPhone 3G S would go on sale next week.
The company also announced that the 8GB edition of the previous generation iPhone 3G would be sold at a discounted price of just USD 99. This price is with a 2 year long contract.
This price cut is not yet available in the Indian market.
Airtel and Vodafone are the two mobile companies authorized to sell the iPhone 3G in India. Both the companies continue to sell the iPhone at the original prices.
The price cut in US means that Indian customers are now paying close to around 6 times the cost of the US price.
Apple iPhone 3G in India is sold with without a contract. But it still is a locked version. So the customers cannot use it with a third party sim card.
Apple iPhone 3G S would go on sale in India from August this year. Airtel and Vodafone are yet to reveal the prices of this new model.
