Fair Usage Policy on Zylog Wi5 Wireless Service

Zylog has launched their wireless broadband service in the city of Chennai.

Their plans are very competitive.

However, there is a big catch.

The company has a rather strict fair usage policy which states:

The service is exclusively for Home usage and not for commercial usage. Usage for more than 6 hours per day shall be commercial usage. Zylog reserves the rights to disconnect the service without prior intimation, if the usage is found to be commercial.

In other words, you can only use it for a maximum of 6 hours in a day. Otherwise you are going to get thrown out of their networks.

Update: The company seems to have removed the 6 hour limitation which was mentioned previously.

Update: Most of the comments (praising the company) below are from the same IP. Proof

Update 2: The reviews are in. The company lies. The service is bad. The support system does not exist. Checkout: India Broadband Forum

Sushubh, your observations of Zylog Wi5 is far from true, cant understand why people like you even get on to the net and spread wrong impressions.. there is no mention of any time or volume limites mentioned in the fair usage policy. I am a happy subscriber for the last 2 weeks and it gives me amazing speeds..

I went through the fair usage policy on wi5 wireless broadband website (wi5.co.in) and found no such cap of 6 hrs per day on usage.

Users are requested not to malign / confuse people. Wi5 wireless broadband is an innovative service. And its plans are truly unlimited.

    Zylog Wi5 is superb.
I don’t think there is any maximum time limit. I have used it for over 10 hours in a stretch and it just works great.

I am a regular user of the wi5 broadband service and I have been using the service for almost 10 to 12 hours everyday for large data downoads

In fact it is the only service that I have come across that consistently allows connectivity at amazingly high speeds without any outages.

Ofcourse the price is a big advantage as well.

Wi5 services are unlimited. I am a resident of Adyar. And I have signed up for an account with Wi5. I have been using it for the last 20 days.I have been downloading complete movies and songs from the site. Since I got the 30 day free usage account, I have virtually left the connection on always!

I am quite happy with the speeds and there is no usage limit. Their fair usage policy is quite fair. Come on, let’s be fair to them!

    Hi

I presume there seems to be wrong connotation of fair usage. I have signed up to their service a week ago by actually reading the T&C well because they require you to sign on the reverse as well. It only talks about usage for unlawful, fradulent activities etc.and doesn’t restrict you on limits of downloads or on time.

    Hi,

I am staying at OMR which they claimed they have started seamless connectivity in OMR.But when i called them i got a no response from them.i was told that they will be starting this service in OMR in 2 weeks time. If there is anyone who is using this service in OMR already please let me know how to approach them to subscribe for this service.

Yes already customer service is questionable. Besides, as more people get added on, the speeds WILL DETERIORATE.
