Airtel is authorized to unlock Apple iPhones in India?
Apple website has a section which displays the list of mobile service providers who are currently authorized to sell the iPhone.
The list also highlights the service providers who are authorized by Apple to offer unlocking facility to iPhone customers.
Airtel in India is one of those companies which as per the Apple document can provide unlocked iPhones to customers. The document adds that these companies might charge for unlocking the iPhone.
The question is… Has Apple given Airtel the permission to sell unlocked iPhones in India? If yes, why is Airtel not utilizing that option?
They can easily sell unlocked iPhones for a slight premium!
