BSNL could look for partners to run their 3G operations

Both MTNL and BSNL have failed to generate any excitement with the launch of their 3G services in the Indian market.

MTNL has reportedly gained only 1000 subscribers while BSNL could get only around 10000 customers.

MTNL has already announced that they are now looking for potential partners to run their 3G operations in the country for a period of 10 years.

BSNL has also admitted that they might have to take the same route if they cannot gain more subscribers in the coming months.

The company said: “We are going all out to build our 3G network and operations across the country and grow our subscriber base. But over the next few months, if we don’t attract enough subscriber numbers, we may consider a strategy similar to that of MTNL.”

The saddest part of the whole saga is that private mobile service providers in India are still waiting to get licenses and permissions to launch their 3G services in the market.
