Virgin Group and Spice Group interested in MTNL 3G marketing service
MTNL recently announced that they were looking for a partner to market their 3G services in the country.
The response to this project has been less than impressive.
Industry sources say that only Virgin and Spice have shown interest in this venture.
AT&T and France Telecom were two other players which were said to be interested.
However, the fact remains that MTNL essentially caters to the value for money segment of the market.
MTNL’s own 3G launch was a failure as they managed to gain only around 1000 customers in the first six months in New Delhi region.
Private mobile service providers in the country are still not allowed to launch their 3G services.
