Tata Teleservices top player last month in terms of new mobile subscribers

Tata Teleservices emerged the strongest player last month by gaining the largest number of mobile subscribers.

Tata managed to beat even Bharti Airtel which is the largest player in the Indian market.

Tata Teleservices is now present in both CDMA and GSM segments. Tata Indicom serves the CDMA market which Tata DOCOMO services the GSM customers.

Both of these brands added a little over 3.4 million customers in August.

Airtel managed to gain only around 2.8 million new customers.

Tata managed to get ahead by offering attractive offers which were priced just right for the Indian customer. It remains to be seen if they can sustain this momentum.
