BSNL aims to provide cheap broadband in Himachal Pradesh
State owned telecom giant BSNL has announced that they are now offering cheap broadband connections in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
The company said in a statement: “From each exchange, a maximum of 32 connections, including 25 individuals, six government institutions and one kiosk would be subsidized by USOF in the state.”
The aim is to ensure the availability of internet connectivity in the villages in this state.
BSNL added: “Under the Universal Service Obligation Fund, BSNL has launched broadband connectivity in rural and tribal areas of the hill state at a subsidized tariff.”
This program was originally developed by the Indian Department of Telecommunications.
