HCL Infosystems launches Wimax enabled laptops in India
HCL Infosystems has partnered with Intel to launch Wimax enabled laptops and nettops in the Indian market.
Wimax Broadband is already available in some parts of the country. It is expected to become more popular in the coming months.
Intel CEO and president Paul Otellini spoke about the availability of broadband access in India: “A 0.1% increase in broadband penetration will create almost 300,000 jobs in India, according to our estimates.”
BSNL has already announced plans to launch Wimax services in 1,000 blocks in the country by next month.
Wimax provides wireless internet connectivity in a larger area compared to regular Wi-Fi routers.
