The power backup problem
Sify Broadband April 24th, 2004
I have written about it in between earlier posts but this is the worst problem I have faced from Sify connection so a separate post on that. When I joined Sify’s local network, I was assured full time proper power backup. When my net got down after the first power-cut in my region after becoming a client of Sify Broadband, their claim was down to a UPS based 2-3 hrs backup. Still my net never worked after a power breakdown. Last month the claim was down to a 1 hour backup on an inverter based power backup. Still I had no luck with any connectivity whenever there was a cut in my colony. Last week, they found out that my line was not on backup so they had my net down for a whole day just to fix this, to no avail of mine as net still goes down with every power cut. And today when I checked with Sify’s Customer Care, they said their Dialup Connectivity would not go down with power cuts (for obvious reasons) but broadband (??) is local CTO’s responsibility. So, if your local cable guy is an as**ole… you are totally screwed. And they tell us to get Sify Broadband to get rid of the unreliability of Dialup Connections. What a crock of shit.
