Sify Broadband people says Unlimited in Package Pages means Unlimited Browsing
Sify Broadband was and perhaps is one of the few big names, which proudly offers unlimited browsing packages on their product plan page. However, the word unlimited has different meaning for different people. We the user get these packages expecting nirvana which means, freedom to spend long hours on the Internet without any worries about increasing bills.
However, for Sify Broadband representatives… Unlimited has very different definition. For them, unlimited means unlimited browsing and not unlimited downloading. This means, they just expect you to stay online without downloading much so that you remain inside the stupid data transfer limit of 150 Megs per day.
This was actually experienced by three people on the Sify Broadband Forum and is quite shocking that people are still unaware of these totally unacceptable policies before joining the services. Worse, none in the media circles of India is bothered enough to raise it. The last hope seems to be the court case an individual named Ankur Raheja has filed against Sify Broadband in the Delhi consumer court.
A user Mahesh1 on the forum even went to the extent of saying this:
Unlimited browsing That’s what the told me. I told him even a 10 mb per month pack will offer unlimited browsing if i download less than 10 MB in that month. Damn liers!!!
Quite right. Maybe Sify guys would think about that suggestion…

The worst customer service. Very very bad Tech team. I am from bangalore, The sify team here is the worst one. The connection is never stable and if the cable gets cut they take a month to repair. The worst part is they never miss to collect the money for services. The team never picks up the phone, never gives you updates. My mobile bill this time just to call sify is aprox 300Rs. Plss never take sify connection

the speed is good the complaint is resolved within 24hrs.I’ve commercial package so not to worry about the downloding per day download as required at 232kbps speed actual 256kbps.

I have taken up a Unlimited Broadband service from sify and most of the times the connectivity is not there. The Sify Customer Service is one of the most worst service. I call them up on a dialy basis and still things are not right. Think twice before subscribing to Sify Broadband.

Sify is Complete waste for Business users always the techinical guys r repairing cables & not answering properly if u have any problem & u make a complaint they say chennai persons r working on the servers they r seniors & they have been modified the setting it will take some time & that some time will take 2 day to 3 days .
There is no security in Sify for home or business users if u want 2 use sify should be use Software or Hardware Firewall, If u have Sify net connection be carefull the other persons r access your pc with out networking knowledge can be Easily like Lan, Bcz Sify has not Security .

With the 150MB data limit, there is also another catch that nobody knows. If you carefully read the terms & conditions of Sify. It says that if you are using the net for more than 6hrs then you will not be considered as home user and considered as commercial purpose. Hope you understand what commercial purpose mean. There will be higher tariff for commercial users.
When TRAI has mensioned that Broadband means min.256KBPS of speed and 24X7 online connection. How can these stupids can limit that to 6hrs, 150MB per day.
