I am giving Sify a last chance. I don’t have a job at the moment and I will find out if I find one in the next 30 days. So, wrote this mail asking them to provide a reliable net… in the next 30 days, or i am out…

OK. Your local CTO’s linesman asked for 3 days I gave him 3 days.
Here is the latest situation:

I renewed on 28th April.
29th April: Net was down since 4 am till 8 pm. I was out whole day and your linesman had no idea that the entire area around my house was not working. I came back at 6 pm. He took 2 hours to fix what was just a 2 min job. Restarted a switch perhaps.

I live in sector 6. Your tower is supposed to be in sector 6. rest of the area in Panchkula as you say is covered with fiber lines. And mine is not coz I am near the tower. So I am penalized for living near to the tower? Are the people living far away paying more for packages? Did they pay more than 3500 for installation? If not then why I get the unreliable LAN based crappy system?

Power backup: Your linesman admit he was lying (actually he said, he himself did not know that the line was not on backup. Wtf, who else should know about it then?) for 3 months… The whole time I was yelling, there is no backup. Last week, he said the problem was fixed. Well, it was not coz network gets disconnected with every power cut. On Sunday he asked for 3 more days. I told him go ahead. I wont call for 3 days. Today was the fourth day. Net was down whole day after light went out at 3 am last night and when it came back, net did not restart. And it did not start until I had to call 5 times in 2 hours to ur local guys. Currently, I am writing this mail at 3:45 am after yet another disconnection after a power cut. And I doubt internet will work after light comes coz one or the other switch or hub would have hanged in the process.

So 2 days after recharging. both have had disconnections. I am maintaining a calendar this time. I will send it to you and host it on my site after the month ends.

Why am I online at 3:45 am?
Well, net has been so inconsistent, I had to take 1 months leave from my office to get the problem sorted out. So now my requirement for internet is 24×7 (that’s what I am paying for since the last 4 months actually). And I am searching for alternative job sources, coz without reliable net there is no chance of me getting a promotion to a more responsible job in my current company. So, you have 30 days to retain this small customer. Fix my net (by installing a fiber cable or whatever, that’s ur headache) in these 30 days or I leave Sify broadband and my job for good. I might not be a big paying customer… But I want and deserve what I am paying for. And I cant pay if I don’t earn. And I don’t earn if net does not work. Net was down for around 10 days last month, would you compensate for those? Even if you do (you already have compensated for 7 days before), can I recover the loses I had in my office on those days? Nope. I am out next month if the situation persists. Your local guys have nothing but false promises and lies.

And please… If you agree u have still not sorted out the last mile connectivity problem, then start doing so. Don’t let customer believe that he is getting a reliable net when he is not. You say some areas in Chandigarh are in a worse situation. Nice… Should I be happy to be a little more lucky than those unfortunate souls?

Oh boy. How lukcy I am. Light is back and net started. Unlike yesterday. Seems to be that Sify broadband is just like a gamble. You just need the luck to get a decent local CTO. 2 of my friends in Delhi are acutally scared of getting Sify after listening to my saga. What should I tell them?
