The confessions of the local CTO

They today accepted that the line coming to my house was never on backup and is still not on a proper power backup. Though they still say that it was put on the inverter in between. For how long and when is debatable because I still cannot remember any instance of my internet working with power gone off. The local CTO today said that he has ordered 3 UPSs (finally!) and they should be in place in 2-3 days. Weird coz I believe I can go and buy 10 good quality UPSs off the shelf right now but what the heck, I will wait for 2-3 more days. With no job left to worry about, I can wait!

Interesting thing to mention here. Today was the day Sify Delhi office sent an individual to Chandigarh office to look in the problems in my connection (this I was told by a mail from them). And today net got disconnected 3 times… 2 times it went for pretty long durations. When it got back on, I got a call from the Sify guy who told me that the line finally has a 2.5 hrs backup. I hope this is true coz at the moment I cannot verify that claim. So, a Sify guy had to come to Chandigarh to get something done which should have been done before they started accepting connection requests…
