Asia Roaming for Airtel Customers

Airtel has good news for their customers who travel around the Asian countries. The mobile company alliance Bridge Mobile initially started by Airtel itself has announced a suite of services for the Airtel customers while roaming in the Asian countries. These services include Bridge Roaming, Bridge Prepaid, Bridge Enterprise, and Bridge Concierge.

The Bridge Alliance was formed in 2004 and includes companies like Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), SingTel Mobile (Singapore), SingTel Optus (Australia), Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan), and Telkomsel (Indonesia). The latest member is CSL (Hong Kong) which joined this collaborating in April 2005.

Bridge Roaming: The roaming customers get access to same short codes for calling customer service or accessing their voice mail as they do at home. In addition, they can connect to Internet using GPRS technology and send MMS Messages.

Bridge Prepaid: Airtel customers while roaming on the alliance member’s network would now be able to top-up their prepaid accounts overseas at designated Bridge Mobile Alliance member counters using local currency.

Bridge Concierge: This is a specialized customer service support at designated Bridge Mobile Alliance counters, which would provide on-spot assistance to customers in case of a lost mobile phone, or support on the various services.

Bridge Enterprise: This service is designed for enterprise customers with regional mobile needs and provides a one-stop shop for mobile voice, data, and SMS packages.
