Broadband Revolution elsewhere

I was wondering as to how the roll out in other countries is changing the way people interact. There has been enough bitching about British Telecom – mirror image of our very own miserable BSNL; just slightly better. The private telecom companies in US have roughshod regulations, against the communities and what not. Remember Enron? Enough people in this world who would hail the next revolution without going in for fundamentals.

South Korea rode on the way to BB nirvana with a strong focus on gaming. Oh well, I d love to do a death match in Unreal. Japanese have grown by leaps and bounds; Mbps speeds are standard. Hong Kong takes the cake. To my knowledge, they were the first ones to introduce gigabit speeds- enough for streaming videos without loss of image quality. One that you can rewind, pause or record in real time.

India? Oh well, “millions of customers” are waiting in the wings, Mr. Maran? In any case, your group is consolidating in newspapers and satellite TV. Helps when you are the helm of affairs, isn’t it? I d wait, watch, and see as to how you subvert this nation’s media interest. Dial up in the gigabits era. Irony of being an Indian. I would be glad if someone illuminates me on the BB scene elsewhere.
