VSNL sinking ship?

In another body blow to VSNL’s monopoly-BSNL has decided to shift its ILD business to Bharti. Fair enough. While this bodes ill for Tata’s whose Indicom plans are frustrated with lack of ideas and subscribers, VSNL seems to be a sinking ship. Its ISP business has taken a hit- despite it’s hoopla about BB business.

Its front-end staff and retailers are angry lot. Talk to anyone and they would testify to the government mindset of taking the things casually. I have even read accounts of customers chasing the sales team to sell them a connection! In the cutthroat market, this is clearly on a loose wicket and would not justify for all the crap.

However, there is a BIG IF. How do these companies manage to quote low rates for tenders without passing on the benefit to individual retail customers? Food for thought? Another fraud in the offing? The mandarins in the plush offices do not give a damn anyway.

Hey Rajiv, how DARE you speak for all Tata Indicom Broadband's customer's? I, and a multitude of people in Hyderabad are being FORCED to give up “EARLY BIRD”, Tata VSNL connections, as they do not wish to offer these connections in a new location. I have spent 4 months trying to get it moved, and will be seeking LEGAL REDRESS, if satisfactory resolution is not provided. Their HIGLY UNETHICAL behaviour, leads me to concur with Dr. Puri's views.
