London to get 24Mbps broadband ISP
While we in India are still waiting for a decent broadband company to offer unlimited bandwidth decent speed connections, the world is going ballistic. There are talks of companies offering 1Gbit connections in some countries and London itself now has an ISP which is now offering an impressive 24Mbps.
This new company has promised to deliver this connection through the modern ADSL2+ Internet connectivity. It claims that their services and speeds would dwarf current top speeds of 8Mbps, and will be available in the capital in three months’ time. Though, they have kept their pricing strategies secretive for now with the best claim being that the offer would be competitive.
This particular ISP would be one of the first to use the French telco Alcatel’s routing equipment and technology. Boris Ivanovic, co-founder of Be is the entrepreneur behind this move in the field where he has already tried entering before in 2001. Ivanovic said in a statement released to the media: “The deregulation of the market makes this a very exciting time for the UK and Be is here to make the most of it, offering customers the full capability of ADSL2+ from launch. There is no reason to drag out the increase in speed and launch in steps of 1Mb or 2Mb when the capability is there to offer the maximum speeds available – which is what Be is all about.”

India is far behind. Its a nightmare surfing and downloading. Its very sad to note that even big broadband players like sify here providing 200mb data download for Rs. 220(approx $4.5).

I am also surprised why dont we have high speed net in INDIA. Kuchh karna hoga. Bharat peeche nahee raha sakta abb. I can’t believe why Airtel is not coming up with 16/24 Mbps conexions. Lets see..
