Status report: 11th May 2004

Hi,

My earlier mails were written on Monday. Net was down whole day on Monday (and of course Sunday).
Today it worked from 8 am (when I started my PC) till 1030 am when it went down again.
I am still waiting for it to get working again.

Just talked with Mr. manpreet and Mr. Girish. Girish asked for today to get this issue fixed.
I am happy to give today to him if he can get my problem solved permanently.

Dunno, how many days I have already given to your people already. 1 more does not hurt.
But net working so reliably (8 out of 13 days with more than 2 hrs downtime) does hurt badly.

Excuses by the local linesman:
1. Saturday, it was fixed at 8pm. Ansari (the local linesman) said, it was a temporary fix.
2. Sunday, it was down after 1 hr of usage. At around 6pm, Ansari said, its too late I will fix it tommorrow.
3. Monday, Election holiday! No one even picked up the phone. If he knew Monday was a holiday, why the hell he did not fix it on Sunday?
4. Today, it went out at 10. 10:15 he was working at some place else. 11:15 still fixing someone else’s net. 12:15 still fixing someone else’s net. 1:15 he is coming to my house. 2 pm. Oops it’s lunch time! 3 pm I am still waiting…

4:30 pm I got hold of that guy. Got him to take the power supply out of my house. And finally it works after 6 hrs. for how long? I am not sure.
