SuperSify – Keep Alive for Sify Broadband Users
Sify Broadband happens to be one of the most widely available non dial-up ISP service in India. Unlike as the brand name suggests, the company does not provide many broadband packages but offer many data-transfer limited Internet connection packages running on LAN mechanism. However, one of the worst parts of the service (other than poor quality of overall customer experience) is the poor quality login client.
This led to many Sify Broadband users develop their own third party login software one of which is supported by TechWhack. It is called SuperSify and it is basically a console based login application. Some of the features provided by SuperSify are really small memory footprint and heartbeat functionality to keep the user logged on.
Another user of the same ISP further added on extra features to this application and named it Keep Alive. It is GUI based application to relogin using SuperSify if the Sify Broadband servers log you off. It also has this extra capability of logging you off after a certain amount of data transfer has taken place, which helps in lowering the bandwidth bills from the company. This becomes extra helpful considering the service deducts validity days from the Consumer’s package after a certain amount of data transfer limit is crossed.
Therefore, if you cannot change your ISP, this is the next best thing to get a decent connectivity without having the worries about extra bandwidth usage on your Sify Broadband Internet connection.
Features of Keep Alive – SuperSify:
+ Reconnects to SIFY after every duration assigned to it.
+ Auto/Manual Logout from Sify Server after completing X MB of data. Where X is any amount of data assigned by the user.
+ Enable/Disable Autologin
+ Enable/Disable Autologout
+ Bandwidth meter to keep a track of how much data you uploaded/downloaded.
+ Displays your data flow in graph.
+ Displays your incomming and outgoing speed of your connection.
