Verizon Wireless cuts prices of its Broadband Services

Verizon Wireless is getting aggressive with their broadband services to the end consumer. They plan to get a much larger user base for their data services through broadband connectivity and have taken a major step by cutting the price of its broadband service by 25 percent. With these cuts, the customers of their services would be paying $59.99 per month rather than from $79.99.

However, the offer is to last only till Dec. 31 and requires a two-year contract by the interested users. Other users who are not voice customers of the company would still be paying the original amount for the broadband services. Verizon Wireless spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said in a statement: “We’ve got the scale, experience and now are reaching out in a national fashion to wireless customers — in fact, national advertising for Broadband Access will begin today on television.”

In addition to reducing prices for their services, the company has also switched added seven new markets for Broadband Access. They are now serving Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and San Francisco, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Denver, and Sacramento, California. The broadband company, which is owned, by Verizon and Vodafone now offer their services in more than 60 U.S. markets.

The ultimate goal for the company in the coming years to serve at least half of the population of America.
