Motorola to expand its operations in Vietnam

Motorola has announced that they would be expanding their operations in the little country of Vietnam and deliver to their domestic consumers, more advanced mobile technologies. An executive of the global communications leader who was addressing the media in Hanoi announced the plans. The company sees a huge potential in this country where the penetration of the mobile technology is pretty low.

Jay Andersen, Vice President of Sales, and Operations for Motorola Networks Asia said at a press briefing: Vietnam “holds tremendous growth opportunities for Motorola”. He added: “We are committed to this market, and look forward to delivering more advanced mobile technologies to the end users in Vietnam”.

The company has just appointed David Knapp as the General Director of Motorola Vietnam and it would help the company strengthen Motorola’s leading market position as a key telecommunications equipment provider in Vietnam. They would be working closely with the mobile operators in Vietnam to identify and implement appropriate network technologies in preparation for the next stage of telecom growth in the country.

Motorola was one of the first global telecom giants to step into Vietnam way back in 1994. Since then, Motorola has made remarkable contributions to the development of the country’s telecom industry.
