South Korean tech giant Samsung is considering opening up a manufacturing plant for producing mobile phones in India. India has more than 63 million mobile users at last count and the number is growing at an impressive pace. The local mobile service providers are helping the cause by providing some of the cheapest services in the world. A spokesperson for the company said about company’s plans: Given the Indian market’s importance, we have been considering a mobile phone plant there. But there is nothing concrete yet.”
Samsung is said to be looking at sites in Noida and Mumbai for this potential manufacturing plant. However, nothing is confirmed yet and the company has not even decided on how much they would like to invest here. Motorola is another company, which has shown interest in manufacturing telecom products here. Motorola happens to be the second largest mobile phone maker in the world leading Samsung.
