India adding 2.5 million mobile users every month
Availability of cheap mobile handsets and cheaper connectivity packages has done wonders in the Indian market. The South Asian country is adding around 2.5 million mobile customers to the world every month and has made the region one of the hottest markets for the manufacturers in the world. The company has currently around 65 million cell phone users in the country at the end of September.
This figure alone is more than 50% more than what it was just a year ago. This information was released by Nokia, the most popular mobile maker in the region and the world. It was collated from variety of sources including data from various trade bodies and telecommunications regulator showing some 13 million connections were added between April and September.
This growth in the sales of cell phone users has also helped the country double the number of telephone users in five years. Impressively, the country now boasts of more mobile users than landline users which goes on to show how BSNL has failed in implementing their plans in the last couple of decades. And what miracles the private companies have managed to achieve in just the last couple of years.
