Reliance Infocomm launches digital electronic news gathering services
Reliance Infocomm has started what it calls the digital electronic news gathering services. This would enable them to provide a broadband network to facilitate live telecast from across 85 cities. Sarup Chowdhary, CEO of Reliance Webworld said in a statement: “Reliance Infocomm had launched its DENG project during the last general elections on an experimental basis to facilitate TV news feeds from different locations to the studios.â€
The company also claimed that many news channels have already started using their services which enables them to avoid using a TV Van. They also said that the content transferred over their services is secure considering it is transmitted over Reliance’s fibre optic network using encryption and decryption technology.
Reliance Infocomm has also set up encoders at select webworld stores to which TV cameras are connected. They are transferring feeds in real time to the studio in a different location, and the studio has a decoder to download the feed.
