Airtel launches a lifetime incoming free mobile offer

Tata Indicom recently sprung a surprise on everyone by launching a scheme, which enabled the new customers of their service to get incoming free for two years. Now, Bharti has got a new scheme, which brings more to the mobile users of the country. Bharti Tele-Ventures has launched a scheme through Airtel, which brings lifetime validity scheme for its prepaid subscribers.

Users can avail this scheme by buying a new connection for Rs. 999 and they would get the special privilege of receiving lifetime validity scheme for its prepaid subscribers. Most GSM mobile service providers usually extend validity by a month on their top up packages. Users are also required to top up their cards to continue receiving incoming calls.

This scheme has another added benefit for the consumers. They would be availing lifetime validity scheme for its prepaid subscribers. Currently, Airtel cuts a part of the paid amount as service and subscription charges. Airtel has also gone into collaboration with mobile phone makers like Nokia to provide combo packages for the consumers.

These mobile phone makers would be providing handsets at costs as low as Rs 1,399 if the consumer chose to go for this special scheme. Hemant Sachdev, group chief marketing officer said in a statement: “The new scheme will enable us to make inroads into the mass market segment particularly in smaller towns and cities.”

This is a good gift for Indians living overseas abd visiting India once a while for personal or official visits. S far, we have been renting the phone each time, and the number will change every time you rent. Now, by spending Rs999+Mobile handset cost, if I can have a permanent number, it is really good. Would like to get more details about the charges, charging policy etc.

life time validity is good. but what about the call charges? most of the people are not willing to pay Rs 1.99/- for even mobile to mobile calls(like myself). airtel doesn’t lose by providing lifetime validity, instead it is gaining hiking the call charges (COMPANY TACTICS)

    Dear friends,

Air tel life time recharge Rs.999 with all hiden costs making fool all of us. Instead of reducing the call rate by Rs. 1 for national roaming it increases even the local call rates by just double the present cost. secondly it can not be reveresed without surrendering the amount Rs.999=00.

    Dear friends
terms and conditions are not clearly mentioned by Air Tel on this issue and even if you are in the recieving mode all the time then also one of your mobile set is being dummy for life time. If you dont make a phone call from the set, no body will like to call you on that life time mobile number. Same time if you make calls the charges are going to be doubled nad there is no option to reduce the call rate after march 1st 2006.

My suggesstion to Air Tel India that if by mistake some body has taken the life time recharge option then there must be a provision to cancel it with some kind of compensation in the paid amount of Rs. 999/. say 50% to 75 % and rest of the balance should continue with the SIM. So that people of India will have some kind of faith on Air Tel schemes in future.
