MTNL to offer services from Easy Bill

State owned Telecom Company MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited) has announced that they are making it easier for their subscribers to pay their bills. The company has now tied up with India’s largest bill collection network — Easy Bill Limited. The aim is to get some load of their collection centers to collect the bills from the consumers and make it a comfortable process for busy people to pay their bills.

Easy Bill has their centers established in around 700 outlets in the Capital and satellite townships. MTNL subscribers can use any of these outlets to deposit their cheques and get receipts for the same. This would be simpler than going to a MTNL office and standing in lines to pay up your dues.

MTNL’s Chairman and Managing Director R.S.P. Sinha said in a statement: “As market leaders in telecom and other IT-related services, we have an added responsibility towards our customers to provide them with convenient bill payment options.” This facility is also available to MTNL customers in Mumbai.

Easy Bill already is providing similar bill collection services for a variety of companies in telecom, power, and financial sector. Easy Bill Limited CEO Rahul Munjal said in a statement on their plans in the coming future: “We plan to expand from our current base of 1,500 outlets across 10 cities to over 10,000 in the top 50 cities in the next three years. Our outlets are located in areas that are frequented by customers like stores, chemist shops and departmental stores. These are usually open till late at night and on Sundays and holidays and customers get an instant authorized payment receipt at a nominal service charge of Rs.5 per bill.”
