Nokia collaborates with Hutch-Essar in India
Nokia has managed to claim another outsourced deal from the Indian market. The company is collaborating with Hutch-Essar in India and would now be managing Hutch-Essar’s mobile network in nine circles for five years. Nokia would also be taking over the management of around 600 employees from Hutch-Essar for this purpose.
Nokia said in a statement on this deal with Hutch-Essar: “Nokia has reached a five-year managed services agreement to run Hutchison Essar’s network operations in nine circles in Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and West Bengal.â€
Letting Nokia manage their network for them would give the company more time to spend on consumer initiatives and improving on other services. Nokia is already the supplier of GSM network equipment to nine of the thirteen circles. This makes this Finnish company the largest network vendor for the operator.
Mr. Asim Ghosh, MD, Hutchison Essar added on his part: “Nokia’s managed service know-how, plus its proven track record when it comes to operating and enhancing networks worldwide, were key drivers in helping us make this decision.”
