Sify is back to its normal self

After a week of something that I can describe as a normal web experience, Sify is back to its normal self. Yesterday I had a breakdown and so did today. And even though net is working at the moment, it’s all so unreliable. It stops responding totally, sometimes it’s awfully slow and sometimes it simply blows the internet. Pings are awfully inconsistent themselves. And I can do little as it won’t bother the CTO if I tell him that the pings are inconsistent and the speed is weirdly unreliable. Anyways, it’s working and that’s what matter to me.

Another mail I sent to Sify when my net was down:

Hi,

The network was down yesterday morning.
The network is again down since last night.

I know Sify is not handling the local network. But then who is?
I am from sector 6 Panchkula. This entire sector has no one who is related to Sify Broadband.
The cable guy who gave me the connection claims he has nothing to do with Sify. This is when I get bills in his name!

The cable guy 2 sectors away?
No one is picking up the phone.

I have already left a complaint at the Sify call center. And how can I expect the call center to help me in a situation when the fault is situated thousands of kilometers from them? So, the efficient way is for me to call the call center in chennai that contacts the Chandigarh office that contacts the local CTO. All this while I am the ass sitting on my PC hoping for some miracle to happen that can let me continue my work.

The next best thing is to call Chandigarh office. It’s again a completely different city for god sake. And best they can offer is that they are coming to Panchkula to see what the problem is. So even after 3 hours, they still have no idea what the problem is! Forget when they will get started to start working on the fix!

UPDATE:
Ok, I just got a call at 1:15 from Mr. Satinder that they are working on it. well, I never complained abt the Sify guys. The problem is the localized service!

So, Sify finds it tough to provide 1 guy for 1 sector? Sify fails to provide anyone within 2 KM radius who can be contacted on a work day to check when the problem will be solved? And then your guys claim that there is no shortage of people to serve the Panchkula city. And trust me, no one except the Chandigarh office is responding to my calls at the moment. Mr. Manpreet got some patience to handle me all the time which the local CTO should be handling in the first place.

All the above stuff is routine but this is new:

I now know I am luckier than some other customers you have. This other day I got in touch with a guy from Bangalore who is also a subscriber of Sify broadband. And guess what, he has seen more downtimes than I have. And worse, his CTO charges him 200 bucks a month as service charges! This is besides the service tax he pays with his package bills. I don’t know whether Sify allows this kind of bullshit happening with their clients. In case you want more details, I had be happy to provide it. You have got 1 totally screwed up network people. And the kind of arrogance your local people show towards the clients won’t do any good to Sify in the long run.
