Mukesh Ambani now prefers Airtel to Reliance Infocomm!

It is funny considering we at TechWhack were just discussing this yesterday. Now that Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani have broken their business relationships, it makes no sense for Mukesh to continue supporting Reliance Infocomm! In fact, we joked that he should perhaps purchase a stake in Airtel and provide competition to Reliance Infocomm…

Today, we are hearing that Mukesh Ambani has in fact realized the fact and Reliance Industries Ltd is indeed reported to be offering their employees the option to replace all Reliance Infocomm mobiles with subscriptions from Bharti Tele-Ventures.

This move from RIL is expected to generate a lot of customers and business for Airtel, which provides landline, mobile and broadband services in the country. Reliance brings to them a prospective subscriber base of as many as 1,00,000 RIL workers.

As per the offer given to the workers of the company, employees are free to purchase “any model of GSM handset directly from the market”. This is totally unlike the previous situation when the handsets were also provided by Reliance Infocomm to the RIL workers.

No wonder! He is one who knows for sure, all about reliance infocomm’s commitments to the customer, in spite of all the hype!
