An open letter to Mr Anil which I wrote in recently. I think it’s appropriate to share here.
Dear Sir,
I must congratulate you for the recent listing on the bourses. I got your email address from the website.
Sir, I write in to say that lack of Broadband Access from Reliance is really hampering the choice available to consumers. It has been in the air for too long that Reliance was to debut it’s services long time back but due to unforseen circumstances, it has been pushed back on the agenda.
I have had the roads dug up near my place with the laying of the ducts. Enquiries from local Reliance office revealed that initial access would be limited to voice calls and Broadband would be delayed by another 3 months. This is the best case scenario, though.
Sir, I am a practising doctor. During the course of my practise, I often need to have access to journals, streaming radios and videos. I am presently stuck up with BSNL, whose insipid plan offerings restricted to 1 GB overall has lead to much heart burn. To add insult to injury, the main head office is incommunicative about any new plan offerings.
I wrote back to Reliance Broadband division asking about the probable date of access. True to their word, they replied in 1 working day but are non commital about the same. They advice me to wait for media announcements to the same effect.
Sir, I would pick up Reliance Broadband for two reasons. First, I have been a long time user of Reliance Mobile services and the quality of access as compared to GSM, left me in no doubt about the same. I am sure, you must have had something similar in mind for Broadband access. Secondly, is the media reports for the content distribtion plans and perhaps a nation wide IPTV roll out would spoil consumers for a choice.
Sir, the future battles would be won on content and content delivery. You own the upstream via Flag and the downstream via last mile access which would leave no stone unturned for your market domination.
However, in my personal opinion and in the forums elsewhere, we all have a reason to hope to Reliance Broadband would do the same thing to access as in the mobile telephony arena which was virtually a stranglehold of few private players prior to your entry in business. I hope this mail be taken in favourable light and your efforts are directed at rejuvenating the Broadband access. Frankly, otherwise, it would take a miracle to make the people switch, given the fact that Airtel is getting aggressive in Wireline access and BSNL virtually owns the last mile access owing to Government monopoly. I have a reason to believe that wireline access would sell on the rider of value added services like Broadband access and content delivery. If BSNL gives me unlimited access at affordable tariffs, it would be difficult to convince my parents to down money to shift over to Reliance.
Finally, customers want choice and superior service. Given the track record of Reliance, I am sure Reliance is perfectly poised for the same.

I, Tathagata Ray, have received my Master’s degree in Biotechnology and would like to extend my knowledge further. The revered Cambridge University, UK, has provided me with the opportunity to do so. I have been offered PhD in Biochemistry. My research interest revolves around the biochemistry of “Photosynthesisâ€, the nucleus of global energy web. I want to apply my knowledge to overcome the global food and environmental problems.
The only constraint that is preventing me from pursuing my goal is a financial one.
It is not that I promise miracles, but I would definitely like to leave behind my mark in terms of my efforts. My father works in a private organization and he has catered for all our needs very efficiently and effectively. But studying abroad requires a lump some amount of money, which is beyond his scope. So with due respect, I would like to apply for a sponsorship which would impart my dreams a concrete shape. I will forever be obliged to you for your consideration, and pledge to respond by serving mother earth with the knowledge I acquire.
An opportunity can completely change my life. It is not that I castigate my present situation but the urge to do better must be present in every human. I being a member of that race am also no exception. Education according to me is not the mere loads of bookish knowledge that has no pragmatic implementation. A knowledge of that sort sinks into oblivion with passage of time. Implementation of knowledge is more important. I believe that I am obligated to use my knowledge in a constructive manner that benefits society. And for that I believe confidence is the key factor. I have selected Cambridge University not only for its world-class research standard but also to strengthen the confidence already in me.
From very childhood I was a sedulous student. The very urge of reaching the sky was embedded in me. It was the devastating flood in 1996[in North Bengal] that had an indelible impact upon me. During the catastrophe I had seen the extent of natural fury and ‘pain of hunger’ as its aftermath. This situation helped me resurrect the desire to go to the crux of the problem and kill it at the root. I selected Microbiology in my bachelor’s degree and Biotechnology as my Master’s subject only to go deep into the fundamental aspects of life science. I have maintained high First Class throughout my academic career and that probably speaks a bit about my instinct and ability to attain my dreams. I feel education is the implementation of one’s learning into practice for the welfare of others and a proper flow of education can change the present face of the world.
For me, “Glory to serve others†will always get higher priority than money or, fame. I want to work at the grass route level. I am from a far-flung village of Eastern India. I dream of a day when my village people back in my place will be proud of me, not because of my degree, but because of my work.
I suppose I have been able to put forward my views in a humble manner without hurting the views and ideologies of any one. The crux of this application boils down to the application for sponsorship due to my financial; constraints and my urge to excel in my field of interest. I hope that you will understand the graveness of the situation and your cooperation regarding this matter is highly appreciated.

I have purchased one mobile in month of June 2006, (09350987200) after five month my outgoing has been stopped reason given by call center is that my address verification is negative. As per there order I have visited web word and again submitted the address proof and id to them as per them it will start in next one hour. But sorry to say till date it is not started.
I want to know following two things from u:-
Why address verification is taken place after five month.
As per u r web word when person visited to my house my house was found locked. I live in a society where person going inside has to make an entry. I do find any entry for that person.
Second my father and mother are old person they can not move out of house. To take care of the wife has to stay at home for 24 hours. In last three year and two month our house was never locked for one minute.
Despite my best effort I am not able to start my mobile.
This kind of service only reliance can provide.
Can I get any answer for this complaint that only god knows?????????????????

I would like to draw your attention that I bought a Nokia 6255 hand set from M/s Shashank Communication Kanpur, a franchise of reliance infocom on 17th August 2005. I was informed that the said set was one of the advance set and all the services of R-World are available on this set.
But alas I am not getting all the R-World services (In particular R-Surf) on my set. When I raised the issue with the dealer he directed me to contact local Nokia Service Centre. When i approached them they informed that as such there is not problem in the handset.
Since then I am raising this issue ((non availability of R-Surf) with your customer care department but without any success. Last time I contacted them on 12.10.2007 but sorry to say nothing happened till date.
I want to thanks your organization for one very good quality they developed that is they harass the customers to such an extent either he/she stops complaining after being suffering up with this high quality of customer care experiences or he/she just change his/her attitude and consider it another sarkari service inform at private level.
I don’t expect much from your side (As I have seen your great service quality in last two years). But even then I expect response from your side (Also I want to gift my set to you so that you may check yourself whether my complain is true.
