One World One Number: Tata Indicom to offer international roaming soon
Indian telecom company Tata Indicom would soon start offering international roaming to their customers. The company uses the CDMA technology to provide mobile and telecom services in India and their service would enable roaming in as many as 186 countries to their customers.
This scheme would be called “One World One Number†and with this Tata Indicom would become the first company in India to launch T-SIM (twin purpose sim card) product for international roaming.
Interestingly, the consumers would as a result get to enjoy both CDMA and GSM services without having to change their number by switching between the two networks freely with only one dual mode T-SIM.
Their competitors Reliance Infocomm have already launched a similar service for their customers and Tata needed this to keep their customers who are frequent travelers to other countries. Darryl Green, CEO of Tata Teleservices said in a statement on this new service offering: “We are confident and optimistic that this service will get a tremendous response. The One World One Number service offers the customers a unique service which will connect them across the globe.”
