Reliance Communications brings talking messages to mobile users

Reliance Communications has launched a new value-added service for their customers in the Indian market.

This new service brings talk messaging service (TMS) to the owners of reliance mobile phones. It would enable them to deliver talking messages to any regular telephone or mobile phone user.

As a result, messages can be delivered to users of competing services as well. The service costs a meager Rs. 2 a minute and has a lot of potential in the rural market where the mobile users are not big fans of English language based SMS service.

President of Reliance Communications (applications and solutions group) Mahesh Prasad said in a statement: “Messaging is no longer going to be limited to texting. TMS will give a new dimension to short messages with a personalized touch of customer’s own voice.”

He added: “We are confident that this offering would be a success amongst the youth and those who do not prefer texting.”

Reliance phone owners can make use of this service by calling 1234111 from their phone (mobile or landline) and follow the voice prompts to record the message and send it on any mobile or landline number nationwide.
