Yeah. My net runs at 16kbps on Sify BROADBAND

OK, a long pending update to my life on Sify Broadband. The net went down yesterday with the start of monsoon. The backup services went kaput last week and still not up. So my net goes down with every power cut. The CTO assures me that the backup is working but the services will resume after 10 minutes as the server has to reboot. So, what he is telling me is that since he cannot provide UPS based backup to the Server, it has to restart every time there is a power cut or a power spike. How pathetic is that? What age we living in? How costly is power backups?
And what else? The net is crawling since afternoon. Getting speeds of 1.2 KBps since then. I call the CTO; he tells me there is a problem with Sify. I call the call center and the dude there tells me that I have got a connection that gives me speeds ranging from 16-48 kbps so such kind of speeds are what I would be getting.
Now. I am on this connection since around 5 months now. So suddenly they realized the services I was getting were too fast and I should get what real broadband means according to Sify people. So I am down from 4-5 KBps to 1.2-1.7 KBps. Just like that.
Good job guys. You really prove how good the revolution of broadband is going on in the country.
