TDSAT tells Bharti to route their STD calls through BSNL
Bharti Telnet has suffered a minor setback as the telecom tribunal TDSAT has instructed them to route all STD calls through BSNL.
With this, the petition filed by the company has been rejected in which they had claimed that it was entitled to carry long distance call traffic on its own up to the point where its network was available.
Such a move would have saved a lot of money for the company, as they would have not paid the interconnection charges to BSNL.
The license agreement between the two companies requires BSNL to provide national and intercircle links to the customers of Bharti Telnet.
TDSAT said in its statement: “We do not see any reason to interfere in the TRAI determination that intermediate handover of calls… Is not in conformity with the license agreement”.
