Bharti Airtel and IBM in a $100 million deal
Bharti Airtel has announced that they would be investing $100 million to deliver India’s first “Service Delivery Platform”.
For this, they are collaborating with US based tech giants IBM. This new project would enable Bharti to deliver a suit of new services to its over 25 million customers.
IBM has been already managing the telecom network operations of Bharti Airtel for some time now and they would now be developing and managing the SDP for Airtel.
Bharti-Airtel President Manoj Kohli said in a statement on this new deal signed with IBM: “The platform will be the gateway to next generation content services for our customers and help us consolidate our leadership position.â€
IBM Asia Pacific Global Technology Services General Manager Satish Khatu added: “The implementation will allow Bharti to offer enhanced spectrum of content and value-added services to its customers, enabling them to maintain their competitive advantage and leadership in the marketplace.â€
