Airtel has a huge order for Ericsson
Sweden based telecom giant Ericsson has confirmed that they have received an order worth USD 1 billion from the Indian mobile service provider Bharti Airtel.
Ericsson would now help Airtel to expand and upgrade their network in the Indian market.
Ericsson said in a statement on this new development: “Bharti Airtel has awarded Ericsson an estimated one-billion-dollar (783-million-euro) contract, including expansion and an upgrade of its GSM/GPRS network and managed services.â€
The contract would last for around 3 years and during this period Ericsson will design, develop and deploy Bharti’s network.
Bharti said that they expect to cover all towns and cities in 15 regions after this massive expansion.
