Bangalore could have wireless internet connectivity within the next one year

The Karnataka Government has said in a statement that they expect the city of Bangalore to be covered with wireless internet connectivity within the next 12 months.

This statement was issued by Principal Secretary to Government, IT and BT, Anup K Pujari.

He was talking at a summit on internationalization of Web here where he said that the government plans to make Bangalore the first city to have such connectivity in the country.

Interestingly, Pune and Hyderabad are also working on a similar plan and it would interesting to see which city becomes the first one to be covered with this wireless internet technology.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy spoke on these plans: “The wireless connectivity would be based on the latest Wi-Max technology, perhaps being attempted for the first time in the world. After all, Brand Bangalore is the Best.”
