Time to appreciate Sify even though I can go offline anytime now!

Ok. So, the CTO has still not given me any backup to my connection and since its morning now and light cuts will soon start to happen (that will take me offline with them), I had still like to write up something nice for Sify! It so happened that at 330 AM my account expired without me having any knowledge about it. Normally I get a call from the Sify people 2-3 days before my package is supposed to expire… but looks like they have got too many clients to handle these days!

The renew account link on the login page was no help as it led to another page which refused to accept my login/password. So the next best thing was to go online on Dialup and buy a pack online. Duh. Dialup…

Called some friends and managed to get a dialup account details… ironically it was a Sify account too. Used it, got online (at 12kbps for Christ’s sake (My BSNL telephone is a living proof of line disturbance) and got the package renewed online. And wohoo! I am back online. To wait for the time I will again be offline… :-s

Sify Online Shopping works too...

The best thing of all this is that Sify’s online shopping site accepts almost every possible combination of cards. At least that’s what it looks like. Now I have not shopped on any other Indian site in quiet some time, but this is a real cool enough deal. The process was confusing and most of the pages sucked at usability. But since it worked, I had rather not complain. There are more serious issues to solve before complaining about these things…
