Bharti Airtel reports 79% jump in profits
Bharti Airtel is the India’s largest mobile service provider and the company has just come out with their quarterly report.
The company reported that its net profit in the most recent quarter surged 79 percent from a year ago.
Bharti has gained tremendously from robust growth in new subscribers.
Bharti’s net income during the July-September quarter totaled 9.34 billion rupees. Revenues were around 43.57 billion rupees. The numbers has managed to beat the market expectations.
The company added a record 4 million new customers between July and September. Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman and managing director spoke about this impressive performance: “This quarter, for the first time ever, India’s mobile net additions surpassed those of China.”
Bharti Airtel has 27.1 million cellular subscribers in 4,000 cities and towns across the country. They also provide broadband services to around 1.6 million customers in select cities.
