China Mobile aiming to enter emerging Asian markets
China Mobile is the country’s largest mobile service provider and they are now aiming to get into emerging Asian markets for further growth.
The company has said that they are looking at nations in Asia and Latin America. China Mobile said in a statement that it would use its experience from operating in Chinese market conditions to expand on both continents.
They aim to target nations which are at similar stage of development as China or slightly behind.
China Mobile chief executive Wang Jianzhou said in a statement: “The main purpose of going global is to create more opportunities to make profit, everything should be judged by this criterion. We must be careful in choosing target companies.”
He further said: “China Mobile has no interest in the mature markets of North America and Western Europe.”
